Resolution #2011-2: Utility Services Shut Off/On Fees

 

RESOLUTION #002-2011

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN

ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR UTILITY SERVICES SHUT OFF

IN THE AMOUNT OF $35.00 AND TURN ON FEES IN THE AMOUNT OF $35.00 FOR ALL RESIDENCE LOCATIONS HOOKED UP TO CITY UTILITY SERVICES AS APPROVED

BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN:

Whereas, the City Council of the City of Georgetown did pass and approve a fee for the implementation of a utility service fee in the amount of $35.00 for turning off and/or turning on utility services at all locations hooked up to the city utility services.

Whereas, the City Council did hold a public hearing on 3 May 2011 at 382 Main St. in Georgetown, Idaho to take public comments on the proposed utility service fees.  After hearing public comment, the City Council did determine the utility fee to be a necessary means to offset expenses incurred while utility services are being turned on and/or turned off as requested by citizens.

Whereas, on 3 May 2011 during the published City Council meeting motion was made and unanimously approved by the City council to designate a fee of $35.00 for turning on water services and $35.00 for turning off water service at all locations hooked up to city utility services.

Whereas, said fees will not be required of property owners who are doing maintenance work on water and sewer lines nor will it be required in emergency shut off or turn on situations.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Idaho the approved fee schedule for a utility turn on request is $35.00 and the approved fee schedule for a utility turn off request is $35.00.  Said fee schedules shall become effective 3 May 2011 as per approval of the City Council at their 3 May 2011 council meeting.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown this 3rd day of May 2011.
