How the building permit process works

  1. Fill out the application completely, supplying all necessary information.
  2. Turn in the completed application at City Hall.
  3. New construction must be staked and flagged at the corners of construction prior to inspection.
  4. A site inspection will be made by the designated City official.
  5. A permit will be granted upon approval of the application.
  6. The permit fee is paid, and the permit must be posted in plain view of the public right-of-way.
  7. Where applicable, water and sewer hook-up fees must be paid prior to construction.
