RESOLUTION No. 2023-01

A RESOLUTION INCREASING THE MONTHLY RATES TO BE CHARGED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN FOR WATER SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR RECISSION AND REPEAL OF ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, Bear Lake County, Idaho, desires to provide such services to the residents of the City of Georgetown;

WHEREAS, the City Ordinances and Code of the City of Georgetown provides that various fees be established by resolution of the Council and posted in the Clerk?s office and may be amended from time to time by resolution; and

WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the rates being established are necessary to provide ongoing services for the citizens and residents of Georgetown;

WHEREAS, a public hearing for the rate increase was held January 25, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall in Georgetown to review comment on the proposed rate increase;

NOW THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Georgetown, Bear Lake County, Idaho, as follows:

Section 1. The fee for water services will raise $10.00 from the current $35.00, to a total of $45.00 per month. The fee established, shall be paid by those individuals and/or property owners, residing in homes or facilities that are presently connected to the System.

Section 2. Upon payment of the shut-off fees for water and sewer services, the fee cited in Section 1 referenced above, shall be suspended. If however at any time, the connections are turned back on the fee shall be reinstated.

Section 3. That a copy of this Resolution shall be posted in the Clerk?s Office and subject to examination by any interested party.

Section 4. That Resolution 003-008 and all resolutions heretofore adopted, which are in conflict herewith, are hereby rescinded and repealed.

Section 5. This resolution shall be in full force and shall take effect as of the 10th day of April, 2023, and continue until repealed.

PASSED AND APPROVED by the Mayor and the City Council this 25th day of January, 2023.
