Amends Section 21 of Ordinance No. 99. A violation of Section 9 (dogs at large) or Section 10 (disturbing the peace) is now classified as an infraction rather than a misdemeanor, with a set penalty schedule.
Penalties for Sections 9 and 10:
- First offense — $100.00
- Second offense — $200.00
- Third or subsequent offense — $300.00
Any other violation of the chapter by an animal’s owner, keeper, or harborer — except licensing violations — remains a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $1,000.00. No jail time may be imposed under this ordinance.
