Resolution #1987-1 Concerning Motorcycles and All Terrain Vehicles

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, STATE OF IDAHO DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ENFORCE THE STATE MOTOR VEHICLE LAWS RELATING TO MOTORCYCLES AND ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES.

RECITALS

WHEREAS, various owners of motorcycles and all terrain vehicles have not been complying with the State of Idaho motor vehicle laws; and

WHEREAS, there exists a great concern for the safety and well-being of all residents of the City of Georgetown,

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, State of Idaho, that strict enforcement of all laws of the State of Idaho relating to motorcycles and all terrain vehicles shall be maintained within the city limits of the City of Georgetwon, State of Idaho.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all motorcycles and all terrain vehicles which are operated on the streets and highways within the City of Georgetown, State of Idaho, shall be licensed and registered according to state law, excepting those which are used strictly for farming use. Such motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles used strictly for farm use shall be so indicated with a slow moving vehicle sign attached thereto, and shall not travel in excess of twenty-five (25) miles per hour.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles not used strictly for farming use and which are operated on the streets and highways of the City of Georgetown, State of Idaho, shall be operated only by licensed operators.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Georgetown Police Department is hereby instructed to carry out this resolution and strictly enforce the Motor Vehicle Laws of the State of Idaho relating to motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles within the city limits of the City of Georgetwon, State of Idaho.
